First Bites: Central Provisions

I’ll keep this entry short and sweet. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Central Provisions since it opened in February. Well, ladies & gents, you can believe the hype. I was presented with some of the prettiest and tastiest food I’ve had in recent months and I can’t wait to try more. The GM/co-owner did end up asking me how I liked my dessert selection. She mentioned it was a relative’s recipe, so naturally I didn’t have the heart to say that I preferred the one a friend had made recently for my birthday, but only because this crust was a little too hard to break with a fork. Seriously though, that is 100% nit-picking. An added bonus was that despite being a craft cocktail bar, they also offer mixed drinks suitable for teetotalers like myself. Portions, flavors, textures, service, and atmosphere were all top notch. Run, don’t walk!

Roasted sunchokes with cheddar curd, capers, golden raisins


Tuna confit on crostini with celery leaves, crème fraîche, salted orange

Cod with cannelini beans & Swiss chard in parmesan broth
